#11: I M D I – Revealed behind the camera…

Under the label of I never criticize..., I’m going to criticize my own film I Might Did It (IMDI here after in the article.) today. A brave attempt it can be said to identify the slack side of own. I won’t say it criticism but actually a kind of confession of what went wrong while the making of the film. At the beginning of pre-productions, IMDI seemed to become a real blockbuster due to its blood-chilling, gripping screenplay, the music was already admired by the listeners and frankly a team, after successful two hits of Midnight Madness and Kuchh Manziley Aisy, was confidently looking forward for its hat trick. But… Difficulties started raining two days prior to shooting schedule when Mansi (Played Ishitaa in Kuchh Manziley Aisy), casted for role of Preeti Sengupta in the film, informed that she won’t be able to attend the shoot at the state when we were already missing Hardik. The screenplay, with no other chances left, was modified on the last night before the shoot started. I

#10: Are we rational enough…?

After searching for a topic since long, last night when a message popped up on my cell screen, I decided to write on this. The message was something like… “This is a very rare message coming directly from Tirupati. Send this to at least 25 people and you will be blessed and your wish will come true within 48 hours.” It didn’t end here. “Don’t ignore this. One person didn’t send it and he lost one of his family members.” The pity is the sender was a friend of mine, an engineer (in real terms a techno-maniac) and a sensible person. I called him back and asked whether he believes in such nonsense. He replied NO but why to take chances. He was afraid of losing his family members. I didn’t raise any issue. Still I want a satisfying answer. Why it is so? Every day, while opening our inbox, we get these types of mails and in spite of knowing this nonsense, most of us forwards it. STOP DOING THIS BULLSHIT. Being religious is not a matter of concern, but sending such mails in hope of some ma

#09: There's nothing new..!

Warning: This could be boring. Read at your own RISK. Yup, there’s nothing new, sounds very common and heard many times. See now there’s nothing new in this saying also. Kidding right now, but I thought beginning should be light so… Switch on the lights please. Kidding one more time but not afraid this time, I’ve already warned this could be boring. Literally taking these words, switch on the lights is to know the truth. The world, being a balance between Substance and Energy which finally is all same as Einstein’s E = Δmc2 proves the theorem of nothingness. All the matters subsequently identified from the energy are ultimately to be transformed in to another form of energy. Thus everything was, is and will be… For simplicity let’s take it this way. Everyday is a new day by default still it’s not new because it had always existed. Time being the forth dimension is dependent of gravity and manipulating the data on different planets but as an absolute whole, time don’t have tenses lik

#08: Indian Secularism.

The post I’m going to write about, lead me to the question that do we really have secularists? If we are in India, I guess… NO. If you’re from a major community and honor your religion, you’re an extremist. But if you belong to a minor community and showing love for your religion, it’s a personal matter of individual. Welcome to the world of Indian Secularism, rather you say it the world of hypocrisy. Question isn’t how we are taking it. (We are used to let go these things anyway.) Question is where is it leading us? The so called leaders, feeling proud for being called secularist, are really oxidizing the base metal of the country. Despite of people have started understanding these, problem arises due to ineffectiveness of people to take a stand. A man is afraid to say something under the fear of being called extremist and everyone starts playing “naro va, kunjaro va…” way. This won’t solve the purpose. It’s not matter of majority or minority, its matter of truth. Right can’t be wr

#07: Raajneeti - A safe game by Jha.

Ath Sri Mahabharat Katha… Has another awaited and anticipated to become a blockbuster movie stand on Prakash Jha standards? May be, may not be… Six times national award winner Prakash Jha had crafted the modern Mahabharat named Raajneeti. Though viewers had expected to watch current Indian politics, Prakash Jha, unlike his earlier movies, played safe this time and portrayed the Indian epic. A kind of right casting for the roles of Duryodhan, Karna, Arjuna or Krishna, but in the name of success he overplayed Arjuna against Krishna. Ranbir, being more popular amongst youth, was given more importance in the movie than Nana patekar to overturn the rules of politics. Arjun (Rampal) was possessing character of Angry Bhima more than the given one of Yudhishthira. Katrina’s character would have become stronger in the end if she had not played Draupadi in the first half. Though unlike Sarkar or Sarkar Raj showing current political dilemma, Raajneeti still is a good option to turn back in the

#06: World cup 2010 South Africa

"The game is not lost till there is one..." Truly said by a sports player, (don’t wanna give him much footage…!) is still effective in real terms. The World war had begun for the race of excellence. It’s really amazing how 90 minutes become span of lifetime. All the emotions are re-lived. All the magic is re-defined. All the passion is re-loaded. When this all combines, we are sure talking about soccer. Though this time we’ll be missing Zidane, Kahn, Rivaldo… still it’s the game and spirit of the game that honors. The show will go on with or without them. Let’s see what this world cup gives us. Perhaps some new Kahn or Rivaldo… Let’s hope to see a real breathtaking action this time. May the best team win. (Though I wish for Die Mannschaft…) Till then play the Ricky Martin… Here we go… or Shakira's Tsamina mina - DJ.

#05: A review on Kites.

No wonder all said kites didn’t fly high. We are used to say what others are saying. If one says it’s not good we start looking at it like we are getting paid to prove that it’s not good. Only weak point of kites that I found was the screenplay was much predictable making the viewer feel I know what’s next. And this feeling made them think there was nothing new. But we need to ask ourselves, are we really looking forward when someone tries to give something new? I wondered when it was rated 2.5 out of five stars. Best cinematography, predictable but yet a gripping screenplay, good music and really good act of actors can’t short to 2.5. It was much better than many worst movies getting four stars. If you say mixture of two makers went in wrong direction, I would confess, I enjoyed both the parts of Anurag basu and Rakesh Roshan to their extent. All I need to say is don’t prejudice anything on getting influenced by others. Judge yourself and listen to your heart. It’s not that Kites i
