#28: Bang Bang Dabangg...

Hai muscular, hai popular, spectacular, he’s bachelor and this pappu can dance too salaa… The real man Sal-MAN khan is back with his home production Dabangg this time and I’m back in my category ‘I never criticize’ (not) to criticize another flick. Released on appropriate festival days, Dabangg’s promotion and marketing has been done Bang on target to make it most Wanted. None of the show on any of the channel is left without Salman or other cast/crew of Dabangg since last two weeks. (But we aren’t here to study the marketing funda so will move towards the review.) It’s Indian Robinhood Pandey and its magic that rules the screen. Dabangg makes all Salman Fans crazier than before. Vijayan has given his best of Action. Abhinav, brother of Anurag Kashyap is remarkable. Music is outstanding. Sonakshi is astounding than many plastic faced actresses of today and above all It’s one and only The Salman Khan that holds the movie on his wide strong shoulder. But what I would like to point ou...

#15: KMA - Can never be criticized...

Once again a brave decision to criticize my own movie Kuchh Manziley Aisy... in I never criticize category. Though viewers will say there's nothing to criticize in the movie, but as I did in IMDI, there is scope to think what else could have been done. (and why I didn't do that.) First issue is what many of D members too raised. Sad climax could have been more effective and would have left a good impact on the viewers. The suggested end was Erick reaches to Railway station, comes on an empty platform nd dives against the train coming towards him. The original track has sequence that Ishita comes by the time nd saves him. But many had an opinion that Erick should die in the end because the sequence that Ishita saves him by arriving there at the pinchtime seems very filmy nd isn't giving a serious impact of the hidden message of the movie. To justify my decision, I've one moment in my memory when hundreds of viewers had applaud that scene at screening in Surat. Ishita h...

#11: I M D I – Revealed behind the camera…

Under the label of I never criticize..., I’m going to criticize my own film I Might Did It (IMDI here after in the article.) today. A brave attempt it can be said to identify the slack side of own. I won’t say it criticism but actually a kind of confession of what went wrong while the making of the film. At the beginning of pre-productions, IMDI seemed to become a real blockbuster due to its blood-chilling, gripping screenplay, the music was already admired by the listeners and frankly a team, after successful two hits of Midnight Madness and Kuchh Manziley Aisy, was confidently looking forward for its hat trick. But… Difficulties started raining two days prior to shooting schedule when Mansi (Played Ishitaa in Kuchh Manziley Aisy), casted for role of Preeti Sengupta in the film, informed that she won’t be able to attend the shoot at the state when we were already missing Hardik. The screenplay, with no other chances left, was modified on the last night before the shoot started. I...

#07: Raajneeti - A safe game by Jha.

Ath Sri Mahabharat Katha… Has another awaited and anticipated to become a blockbuster movie stand on Prakash Jha standards? May be, may not be… Six times national award winner Prakash Jha had crafted the modern Mahabharat named Raajneeti. Though viewers had expected to watch current Indian politics, Prakash Jha, unlike his earlier movies, played safe this time and portrayed the Indian epic. A kind of right casting for the roles of Duryodhan, Karna, Arjuna or Krishna, but in the name of success he overplayed Arjuna against Krishna. Ranbir, being more popular amongst youth, was given more importance in the movie than Nana patekar to overturn the rules of politics. Arjun (Rampal) was possessing character of Angry Bhima more than the given one of Yudhishthira. Katrina’s character would have become stronger in the end if she had not played Draupadi in the first half. Though unlike Sarkar or Sarkar Raj showing current political dilemma, Raajneeti still is a good option to turn back in the...

#05: A review on Kites.

No wonder all said kites didn’t fly high. We are used to say what others are saying. If one says it’s not good we start looking at it like we are getting paid to prove that it’s not good. Only weak point of kites that I found was the screenplay was much predictable making the viewer feel I know what’s next. And this feeling made them think there was nothing new. But we need to ask ourselves, are we really looking forward when someone tries to give something new? I wondered when it was rated 2.5 out of five stars. Best cinematography, predictable but yet a gripping screenplay, good music and really good act of actors can’t short to 2.5. It was much better than many worst movies getting four stars. If you say mixture of two makers went in wrong direction, I would confess, I enjoyed both the parts of Anurag basu and Rakesh Roshan to their extent. All I need to say is don’t prejudice anything on getting influenced by others. Judge yourself and listen to your heart. It’s not that Kites i...
