#27: And its not Crusade v/s Jihad

Dove World Outreach Center… A small, 50 member non-denominational charismatic Christian church in Gainesville, Florida has become famous worldwide all of a sudden. Reason: Terry Jones, a man behind, who wish to celebrate "International Burn a Koran (Quran) Day", during which church members would hold book burnings of the Quran, on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks…!

The oldest and simplest way to become famous is revealed once again in above act. It’s not when you feel comfortable, it’s to make others feel uncomfortable. It’s not an instant or insane action. It’s a planned, well organized strategy to get noticeable enough in the eyes of world.

In 2009, Dove World posted a sign on its lawn which stated in large red letters "Islam is of the Devil" and now it is going to higher level with the event of burning Quran. Terry Jones has however said that he hopes the event does not lead to violence. (Then why the bloody hell you announced the senseless event.) Jones says he regularly receives death threats since the event was announced. (And that’s what you wanted always huh…) Also since the announcement, the bank, where the church has a $140,000 mortgage loan, has demanded immediate repayment of the balance and Jones has also had his property insurance cancelled. (And still he’s happy because it’s not the church that matters to him, neither the Quran or Islam nor the innocent victims of 9/11. All that matters to him is fame at any cost…)

One act raises questions and all self praising intellectuals start arguing with statements like Bible says Crusaders massacred so many men, women and children in parts of Jerusalem that a Christian chronicler, Fulcher of Chartres, described an area ankle-deep in blood. While burning Jews alive, the crusaders sang, “Christ, We Adore Thee.” Or Islamic hadith, which are narrations considered “supplements” to the Koran, says The [final] Hour will not start, until after the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them. The Jew will hide behind a stone or tree, and the tree will say, `O Muslim! O servant of Allah! This is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.’ But this isn’t right time of arguing that favors aim of a selfish, self-centered person without any ethics. For the sake of his own satisfaction, he is playing with emotions of people worldwide and tragedies keep repeating.

Hillary Clinton called the plans "outrageous" and "aberrational" and said they did not represent America or American values of religious tolerance and inclusiveness. "It is regrettable that a pastor in Gainesville, Florida, with a church of no more than 50 people, can make this outrageous and distrustful, disgraceful plan and get the world's attention – but that's the world we live in right now. It is unfortunate; it is not who we are."

The Head of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, Mirza Masroor Ahmad, has stated that "Religious extremism, be it Christian extremism, Muslim extremism or any other kind, is never a true reflection of the religion".

Indonesians took to the streets to protest the event on September 4, with thousands, mostly muslims, taking part in events across the country. Rokhmat Labib, chairman of the Islamic group Hizbut Tahrir that organized the protests, called the planned book burning a provocation and predicted that muslims would fight back should it take place. Lahib said that Muslims must not stay silent when their faith is threatened.

General David Petraeus said "it is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community." On the same day hundreds of Afghans had protested in Kabul against the planned Qur'an burning event, chanting "death to America" and throwing rocks at a passing military convoy. Military officials also expressed fears that the protests would spread to other cities.

And after receiving such kind of responses from all over the world, In addition to the Qur'an, Jones has stated that he also plans to burn copies of the sacred Jewish text, the Talmud. (So that he can gain further attraction from the world… Totally disgusting…)

This is where the issue leads. It’s not about burning Quran. Terry Jones may go for burning Bible too in future for the sake of media hype. (Like Stephan Hawking said about God and Universe… though it’s a different issue and nonviolent too…) The freedom to speak encourage some morons to have a platform and as I said earlier, all self praising intellectuals start arguing to show off the knowledge they never had which in turn results like 9/11. It’s just a mental illness that some extremist possesses or cold blooded fame seekers achieves. It’s war (And never a holy war) of humans not labeled with any religion. It’s blind religious followers that causes war and not the religions itself. It’s just some stupid Christians v/s idiot Muslims and not all of them of the respected religion. It’s not Crusade v/s Jihad and it can never be… - DJ.

#14: Dardura Special. Hail Darduras...!

Darduras are here... Darduras are there... These Darduras are everywhere...! First I need to explain what is Dardura? But the right question is who is Dardura? He/she is a kind of species of human being. You can say either is an alien that looks like human being. "Yatra dardura vaktarah, tatra maun hi shobhe chhe..." like of an ukti is there in Sanskrit. Which means when frogs are lecturing around you, better you keep silence. Hope now you have identified the Dardura as it's always there every next step of our life. The pity is you can't do anything with these Darduras. They are either your relatives or your elders or the ones you ought to respect. No wonder they have never been to Junagadh yet they'll advise you how to climb Mount Everest. They'll keep interfering your life untill you really feel there's no life in your life. You are angry. You wanna kill them. You wanna eat them. But these darduras are eternal creatures. Nainam chhindati shashtrani, ...

#10: Are we rational enough…?

After searching for a topic since long, last night when a message popped up on my cell screen, I decided to write on this. The message was something like… “This is a very rare message coming directly from Tirupati. Send this to at least 25 people and you will be blessed and your wish will come true within 48 hours.” It didn’t end here. “Don’t ignore this. One person didn’t send it and he lost one of his family members.” The pity is the sender was a friend of mine, an engineer (in real terms a techno-maniac) and a sensible person. I called him back and asked whether he believes in such nonsense. He replied NO but why to take chances. He was afraid of losing his family members. I didn’t raise any issue. Still I want a satisfying answer. Why it is so? Every day, while opening our inbox, we get these types of mails and in spite of knowing this nonsense, most of us forwards it. STOP DOING THIS BULLSHIT. Being religious is not a matter of concern, but sending such mails in hope of some ma...

#48: Notes on Filmmaking _ Introduction.

Hi folks. As promised ago, I’m starting here some notes on Filmmaking related things. We’ll begin with introduction & as it is the first one, I’ll keep it very basic and fundamental. We will move forward in detailed things one by one. So let’s begin. In earlier days, Films were used to be silent i.e. only visuals, no sound. Then came talkies and it gave a meaning to the scene. So a film became an audio-visual presentation. But not every audio-visual is a film. A footage of a street with all background voices/noises or a video of a birthday party has both audio and video but it is not a film. So how films differ from these? Well, a film should convey a story. If that street or that birthday party is having a character that portrays some part of a story and then that footage has become a part of the film. Cool, so more or less a story is needed to be told. Now the way you convey the story is what we call a screenplay. I.e. how will the scenes be played on the screen? (N...
