Disclaimer: The post is totally fictitious and resembles no real interview.

Hello, Aadaab, Vanakkam, Salaam Namaste. Your favorite host Shashvat Welcomes you all in Independence Day special episode of yours favorite show Face 2 face with Shashvat Saxena.

Interlude Drum

As always, first thing first and that’s the question. What is the phenomenon that took place every year on 15th of august that won’t happen this time? Keep thinking.

And coming back to show, today, before a day of 15th august, we have a very special guest. Former Minister of External affairs of India, former minister of defense of India, former Deputy Chairperson of the Planning Commission of India and current Finance Minister of India. Ladies and Gentlemen, please welcome Mr. Pranab Mukherjee.

Interlude Trumpet, with clapping.

SS: Welcome to our show sir, Kamina chhe.

Pranab: What?

SS: I mean Kamon Achen, Kamon Achen…

Pranab: Oh, I’m fine.

SS: Sir we have called you for the special episode of an important day of India’s history falling tomorrow.

Pranab: Oh yes, I know that. Tomorrow is Grand Finale of Indian Idol…!

SS: Sir, it’s our Independence Day tomorrow.

Pranab: Oh yeah, that too…

SS: Ok so, let’s begin. Sir what steps are being taken by government to prevent high Inflation rate?

Pranab: A very Important step is been taken. We have formed a committee to evaluate current economic status and to build a unique structure by applying which we can decrease the rate of Inflation.

SS: And how long it would take sir?

Pranab: As Mr. Singh has said already. Inflation will be under control by December.

SS: December of which year sir?

Pranab: No comments.

SS:  Ok let me make this easier for you. You may count in which field India has progressed?

Pranab: Well, special budget allocation of 200 crore is been made for climate-resilient agriculture initiative

SS: And yet, more than 2,00,000 farmers have committed suicide since 1997.

Pranab: We have made national security stronger than before.

SS: Yet, we have Parliament attack, Bomb blasts in cities, Kasab and many more.

Pranab: We are encouraging young blood for sports events.

SS: And encouraging more Lalit Modis and Kalmadis too…

Pranab: Our national education budget is of ` 45267.40 million.

SS: Still no change in education system leading average ten kids commit suicide every week.

Pranab: Today, India ranked second in farm output.

SS: And yet Sharad Pawar is silent on hungry stomach of poor people even when Supreme Court have stated that huge stock of wheat is rotting across the country.

Pranab: What to say Shashvat. There are two sides of coins.

SS: Sir, Being agreed to your image of a clean politician and your father, being the freedom fighter have jailed for more than ten years, what is lacking in making India’s coin shine both sides?

Pranab: Well Shashvat, we have to confess that perhaps we all, not just both of us, but every Indian has lost the proud for the country itself. It has become a matter of words only. We all have become patriotic just for two days a year. Perhaps I’m not like my father or no one else too. Slamming Gandhiji has become a fashion now days. Young generation is happy to watch movies like Rang de basanti or Yuva but no one wants to imply that in real life. This is scenario of last 63 years and may last another 63 years until and unless people stop being ignorant to problems.

SS: Very true sir. This reminded me Iqbal’s words. “Vatan ki fikr kar nadan, musibat aanewaley hai, teri barbadiyo ke mashware hai aasmano me, na samjhoge to mit jaoge ae Hindustan walo, tumhari dastan tak bhi na hogi dastano me…” May our future generation take these things seriously and we really built a true independent India.

Pranab: Amen… Tathastu... Jai Hind.

SS: Jai Hind sir. Thanks for coming on our show.

Interlude saxophones with applaud.

SS: So friends, time to answer the question that I had asked in beginning. The phenomenon that took place this time is the employees have lost their holiday in the name of Sunday. Is this the only matter of concern? Is our Independence Day is only a reason for holiday? This is an urge to awaken your Inner Indian. Please don’t let this Independence Day become a matter of few patriotic messages to friends. Take an oath to walk on path of truth. Take an oath to fight against corruption. If each one of us will be on right path, India will get the shine on both sides of coin. Signing off now. Do wait for me and some new guests on your favorite show Face 2 face with Shashvat Saxena broadcasting on Channel Random Strokes… Till then See you, Sayonara, Hasta la vista, Rab rakha, khuda hafiz, aavjo vhalaa fari malishu. Wish you all a very Happy Independence Day. Jai Hind.

#11: I M D I – Revealed behind the camera…

Under the label of I never criticize..., I’m going to criticize my own film I Might Did It (IMDI here after in the article.) today. A brave attempt it can be said to identify the slack side of own. I won’t say it criticism but actually a kind of confession of what went wrong while the making of the film. At the beginning of pre-productions, IMDI seemed to become a real blockbuster due to its blood-chilling, gripping screenplay, the music was already admired by the listeners and frankly a team, after successful two hits of Midnight Madness and Kuchh Manziley Aisy, was confidently looking forward for its hat trick. But… Difficulties started raining two days prior to shooting schedule when Mansi (Played Ishitaa in Kuchh Manziley Aisy), casted for role of Preeti Sengupta in the film, informed that she won’t be able to attend the shoot at the state when we were already missing Hardik. The screenplay, with no other chances left, was modified on the last night before the shoot started. I

#16: On the Edge...!

A tough decision, I've taken to write this but... This is where I am right now... On the Edge...! It took 12 years and 4 months to begin the first step towards the destination of my life. In march-1998, my eyes saw a dream, a dream to become a Film Director, a dream of receiving Filmfair award and in reply to that a thanksgiving speech. (that i still murmur all the time, off course with some changes always.) A 13 year old boy had seen the future. Time went on and I started realizing that it's not easy to get in the industry. What to do now to get in? What if I give all the things for what a producer needs to hire many persons. I started composing songs. Stories were my companion since long and I believed (others too..!) that I can dance really well. So I had now story, screenplays and songs written as well as composed, and I can serve as choreographer, cinematographer and as an editor too. My confidence started boosting. I kept doing my work with my studies for next ten years

#23: The Making of Kuchh Manziley Aisy...

As I had promised earlier in post #15: KMA - Can never be criticized..., here comes The making of Kuchh Manziley Aisy... KMA here after, which is, logically third but our first film that was made especially for a film festival. As in post #15: KMA - Can never be criticized..., I’ve already discussed many of the issues, we’ll move directly towards the shoot in this. The story of KMA, unlike I Might Did It, was much focused on two characters Erick and Ishita only and therefore, had freshness in spite of a heavy, serious and motivational subject for students. The only aim was to maintain that freshness on screen also and that’s why we had selected Mr. and Miss College for the main lead. On the very first day, we had opted to shoot the broke up scene of Erick and Ishita at the parking area of our Engineering College, and the peon roaming nearby had started troubling us. He came, he saw and he conquered. Not precisely like that, but he asked us to meet the principal once. And being the D
