#08: Indian Secularism.

The post I’m going to write about, lead me to the question that do we really have secularists? If we are in India, I guess… NO.

If you’re from a major community and honor your religion, you’re an extremist. But if you belong to a minor community and showing love for your religion, it’s a personal matter of individual. Welcome to the world of Indian Secularism, rather you say it the world of hypocrisy.

Question isn’t how we are taking it. (We are used to let go these things anyway.) Question is where is it leading us? The so called leaders, feeling proud for being called secularist, are really oxidizing the base metal of the country. Despite of people have started understanding these, problem arises due to ineffectiveness of people to take a stand.

A man is afraid to say something under the fear of being called extremist and everyone starts playing “naro va, kunjaro va…” way. This won’t solve the purpose. It’s not matter of majority or minority, its matter of truth. Right can’t be wrong and wrong can’t be right. If it is so, why people are afraid of saying it publicly? No one is ready to turn the cards first. And that’s what had led us in current dilemma. Though sometimes, apart from fear of one’s image there is another fear of losing vote bank. Why it is so? I’ll never believe that Indians are not smart enough to recognize the face behind the mask.

Indeed, we need one more Sardar patel back in India. But the problem is everyone is waiting for someone to become like him, no one is ready to jump into. Krishna said in Gita “tadatmanam srujamyaham and sambhavami yuge yuge”, and we, taking it for granted, are still waiting for his advent. Don’t wait… He wants to advent in our heart; just we’ve kept our door closed.

Don’t afraid on being alone. Do remember. “Behind every revolution, there’s always only one man.” Start a new day today. Speak up. Don’t let some hypocrite leader make a distance between you and your neighbor of another religion. Time is to unite now. Time is to define the real secularism. Time is to build a joyful secular India.
